I need to buy a new computer because my audio input/output is broken and other shit which is fucked because it means I can't record. Unfortunately my ambition outweighs my capability right now, and my bank account too.
I'm playing on February 4th at the Old Bar supporting another Melbourne band called Yolke, come along if you can. If all goes well I should be playing at Hell's Kitchen last Saturday in Feb, and hopefully doing some support slots with my friend the genius Tom Barry and his band Parading. They're fucking great, listen to them.
Also, I'm going to be contributing to a music downloads blog that me and a bunch of friends have set up. It's over here.

Thanks to Lauren for introducing me to this guy. Check out his crazy style. This is a cover he did of a Leslie Gore song. It is great. Highlight: "Don't say I can't play with other BOYS!" I recommend getting the whole s/t album, it has really mind-blowing, eerie production.

I have been listening to a lot of Nico. I bought Chelsea Girl on vinyl and it hasn't left the player. However if you (like me) somehow overlooked Nico's discography outside of Chelsea Girl and her work with the Velvet Underground and Andy Warhol, here are three great records I've just discovered:

'Desertshore' is my favourite at the moment. I listen to it and feel surrounded by moaning sad ghosts, and it has that kind of haunted German sound, with all these dark European folk instruments. Especially in songs like 'Abschied' she sounds like she's meeting Death in a Bergman film or something. Then again I don't speak German.
'Le Petit Chevalier' is really beautiful too.
Listening to her stuff makes you realise a whole bunch of artists wouldn't be doing what they're doing today without her influence.

(Is it bad to use other people's uploaded .rar files? Is it strange to blog so soon?)

This is a picture of Genesis P-Orridge and Jacqueline Breyer (Lady Jaye) after one of the operations/body modifications they underwent as part of their idea of creating a 'pandrogyne.' Read up about it, whatever you think you have to admit there's a shitload of dedication involved. Well, Lady Jaye died last year and I was reading an interview with Genesis and found this picture and it seemed awfully sad, but also made me think it looks like a more gender-fucked-up 21st century version of that picture of Maureen Hindley and David Smith on their way to trial.
